Beautiful Albanian Sunset
Every city in the world that I have either lived in or visited has a different sunrise or sunset. Colours are most intense as the sun gets closer to the horizon so if you are somewhere close to sea level, then this is where you will see a beautiful, colourful sunrise or sunset.

Why are sunsets colourful?
The colours themselves come from the scattering of particles in the air. Molecules and particles in the atmosphere change the direction of light rays causing them to scatter, affecting the light coming from the sky.

The smaller Blue particles are scattered more easily so during the day the light has a shorter distance to travel so we see blue. In the early morning and evening, the light has to travel through much more atmosphere for light to travel through so the blue has a tough time getting through leaving us with the red.

THE AUTHOR

As it does, life took a devastating sideways turn for me. With fierce determination, I quit my teaching job, shut down my photography business, packed up my apartment, hired an agent and rented it out on Airbnb, bought a ticket to London and embarked on an adventure of discovery, both about the world and myself.   As a local Sydneysider, I never get tired of this walk or this view. Today I was thinking how incredible this would be for a visitor to our beautiful city. It's an easy walk with loads of cafes and eateries or picnic spots along the way as well as a few must-do detours. Top Things To Do In London - Spitalfields and The Huguenot homes of Fournier street - a little history walk through London

With my good friend, Russ, occasional walking guide and history enthusiast I had the fortunate pleasure of being transported back in time, experiencing London in quite a unique way. When I may have simply passed by oblivious to its significance, Russ pointed out a snippet and anecdote that made the walk a much more enjoyable experience. Things got messy in France under  King Louis XIV  around 1685 forcing The Huguenots (Protestants) to leave the country. Around 50,000 of them settled in England, around half in London and many around the Spitalfields streets we walked through today. These homes were built in the 18th century. As silk weavers and clockmakers, the Huguenot's homes were a combination of workshop and living space. These are the largest group of Georgian built homes that still remain standing in London and are currently grade ii listed buildings, which means every effort must be made to preserve them. Juvenile Eastern Whipbird drops by for a visit

  My walk on Thursday, went from Lindfield down Symons Track, under Fullers Bridge and toward Chatswood golf course. On the little trail before the golf course, I heard a scurrying in the bushes and a little muffled squelching.  I saw two Whipbirds amongst the brush. The regular blue-headed Whipbird I had seen frequently but I have never seen this brown coloured one. So I quickly photographed it then once home used my Merlin app to identify it as a Juvenile Eastern Whipbird. The adult Eastern Whipbird peers at me through the bushes. I always get excited when I see a new variety or a different version of a bird.  I get a lot of ridicule from serious bird people but I hope I never lose the thrill of these new discoveries.
